Surgery association honors Dossett
Lesly Dossett, M.D., M.P.H., has received the Outstanding Woman Resident Award from the Association of Women Surgeons, which recognizes surgical trainees who demonstrate potential as future leaders in the field.
Dossett, a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, is a fifth-year surgical resident and serves as co-administrative chief resident.
“Lesly Dossett is a program director's dream resident,” said John Tarpley, M.D., program director for General Surgery. “She stands out as an exemplary role model for all of us by practicing current, evidence-based medicine and by her thoughtful, deliberate and capable decision making.”
Dossett will receive the award in October at the meeting of the American College of Surgeons.
