Sutherland lecture is March 15

The Earl W. Sutherland Lecture will be held Thursday, March 15 at 4 p.m. in 214 Light Hall. Nobel laureate Dr. Ferid Murad, professor and chair of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology at the University of Texas-Houston Medical School, will present “Cellular Signaling with Nitric Oxide and Cyclic GMP.”

Sutherland was professor of Physiology at Vanderbilt from 1963 to 1973. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1971 for his discoveries related to cellular signaling and hormone action.

The department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics sponsors the Earl W. Sutherland Lecture.
