Anne Marie Tharpe, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences, has been invited to serve on a national steering committee convened to discuss the nature and direction of the 2010-2015 strategic plan for Maternal Child Health Bureau training.
The meeting will be held in Washington, D.C., this month in conjunction with MCHB's Title V 75th Anniversary, Commemoration and Celebration.
The Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences has two MCHB training grants (one since the 1950s) and faculty also participate on another MCHB grant in the Department of Pediatrics.
These interdisciplinary training grants focus on the areas of pediatric hearing loss, pediatric speech-language disorders and autism.
