The annual American Heart Association Heart Walk was held Sunday, Oct. 10 on the Vanderbilt campus. Approximately 10,000 walkers participated, raising $1.2 million. Of that, the Vanderbilt team raised about $225,000, with 1,300 walkers on the team. Jeff Kaplan was this year's team leader.

"The Nashville walk is the third largest in the country, behind Detroit and Seattle, thanks to Vanderbilt's outstanding support," said Brandi Broome, regional Heart Walk director with the American Heart Association.
