The talk by Zukoski, one of the surgeons who performed the first kidney transplant at Vanderbilt 45 years ago, was one of several events hosted by Vanderbilt's Kidney Transplant Program honoring the milestone. Also last week, Terry Strom, M.D., director of the Transplant Research Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, delivered the Billingham Lectureship in Transplant Immunology.
