Vanderbilt has new vendor for office supplies

Effective Sept. 1, Vanderbilt has a new vendor and new purchasing contract for office supplies.

David Jones, director of Procurement and Disbursement Services, said benefits of the new contract with Nashville based Guy-Brown-Boise Office Solutions include significant cost reduction, department-based electronic ordering, and enhanced customer service such as might be expected from a locally owned and operated vendor.

The new contract also advances Vanderbilt commitments to support the local community and to foster diversity in all the university’s affairs. Guy-Brown-Boise is a minority owned business with annual sales of $5.6 million.

“We want to urge all purchasers of office supplies at Vanderbilt to access this contract, both to achieve cost savings on our office supply purchases and to support the university’s commitment to diversity and to the local economy,” said Teresa Bills, coordinator of Procurement’s Vendor Diversity Program.

The proposal from Guy-Brown-Boise edged out proposals from seven other office supply vendors.ntracts awarded by the university. For training for on-line ordering, call Emily Benedict of Guy-Brown-Boise, 870-5582.
