Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center will host “Living The Moment,” a patient education conference for survivors of all types of cancer and their friends and family, regardless of where they received their treatment.

The event will be Saturday, June 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Student Life Center, 310 25th Ave. S., on the Vanderbilt University campus in Nashville. Cost is $10, which will cover lunch and parking.

“Living The Moment” will include sessions on a variety of topics of concern to cancer survivors, including fatigue, nutrition, care for the caregiver, financial concerns, use of the Internet for survivors, and complementary therapies such as art, music, yoga and qi gong, guided imagery and journaling.

The event is held in conjunction with National Cancer Survivors Day (which is Sunday, June 5) and will conclude with a ceremony to honor cancer survivorship and celebrate life. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view exhibits and receive information from community-based cancer organizations including the American Cancer Society, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Gilda's Club Nashville, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and others.
