VUMC offers three sessions on driving value in patient care

Vanderbilt University Medical Center will offer three opportunities to attend “Driving Value in the Adult Patient Experience and the Role you Play” as part of the annual State of the Clinic address.

Open to all Medical Center employees, these meetings will provide information on outcomes, experiences and forward-thinking strategies regarding adult patient care in the adult hospital and clinics.

The events are Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 7-8 a.m. at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs; Thursday, Nov. 3, from 7-8 a.m. in the first floor conference room at Vanderbilt One Hundred Oaks; and Friday, Nov. 4, from noon – 1 p.m. in 208 Light Hall.

“We encourage the attendance of as many physicians and staff as possible, as this will be a great opportunity to learn about the successes we achieved in the previous year and the challenges we face in the coming year,” said Paul Sternberg, M.D., chief medical officer of Vanderbilt Medical Group (VMG) and assistant vice chancellor for Adult Health Affairs.

“This presentation is particularly timely, given the recent consolidation of the various components of the adult clinical enterprise around [David] Posch's leadership," he said, referring to the announcement in September that Posch, chief executive officer of Vanderbilt University Hospital (VUH) and Clinics and executive director of VMG, would assume management responsibility for both VUH and TVC.

In addition to Posch and Sternberg, speakers include Marilyn Dubree, MSN, R.N., chief nursing officer; Margaret Head, MSN, MBA, R.N., chief operating officer of VMG; and Allen Kaiser, M.D., VUH chief of staff.
