Vanderbilt University Medical Center staff may receive success sharing bonuses in their Nov. 30 paychecks based on the Medical Center's financial achievement in fiscal year 2007.

Full-time and some part-time staff may be eligible based on certain criteria:

• Regular full-time staff hired on or before July 1, 2006, will be eligible for $480; regular part-time staff (at least 20 standard hours per week) will be eligible for $240.

• Regular full-time staff hired on or between July 2, 2006, and Jan. 1, 2007, will be eligible for $240; regular part-time staff will be eligible for $120.

• Eligible staff members must have received an overall performance rating of at least 3 on their last performance evaluation.

“Financial success is due to the contributions of individuals and teams in all corners of the Medical Center,” said Harry Jacobson, M.D., vice chancellor for Health Affairs.

“Our success sharing program is another way for us to remind staff members of the roles they have in improving quality and safety, controlling costs and maintaining productivity.”

Those not eligible for bonuses include:

• Staff in University departments who are assigned to the Medical Center — Human Resources, VUPD, etc.

• Individuals currently on final performance improvement counseling.

• Supervisors who have not completed performance evaluations on eligible staff.

• Faculty and students.

• Leadership staff who are eligible for bonuses under separate plans.
