Lola Blackwell, a second-year Vanderbilt medical student, received top honors in a recent Midsouth International three-day event, a type of triathlon on horseback.

Blackwell won the International Championship, competing against both professionals and amateurs, men and women, and in all age groups, and was also the highest-placed amateur and the highest-placed senior (over 18). She won the titles of U.S. Amateur Champion and U.S. National Senior Champion.

Blackwell has been riding horses since she was 3. This is her fifth international championship.
