VUSN set to provide care at senior center

Vanderbilt University School of Nursing has partnered with the Blakeford senior living community to provide nurse practitioner care.

Ellen Tosh Benneyworth, M.S.N., a VUSN faculty member, will serve as care manager, services coordinator and counselor for both residents and families.

Tosh Benneyworth brings nearly 12 years of experience in advanced practice nursing to this position, including teaching, specialty and primary care of adults.

“Ellen's experience as an innovative advanced practice nurse and her extensive knowledge of counseling patients make her ideal for Blakeford,” said Bonnie Pilon, D.S.N., R.N., senior associate dean of Faculty Practice at VUSN.

“Blakeford incorporates a holistic approach to caring for both active and frail seniors, and they are excited to add a VUSN nurse faculty member to their team who is expert in promoting health and treating disease in this population.”

The Blakeford, which opened in 1996, is a senior living community located in Green Hills that offers independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing to more than 200 residents.
