Maria Overstreet, M.S.N., lecturer in Nursing, has been selected to attend the Summer Institute for Tobacco Control Practices in Nursing Education at Georgetown University.
The goal of the Institute is to educate participants on tobacco control practices in nursing education and facilitate the incorporation of smoking cessation concepts into the curriculum of their own schools.
Overstreet teaches a pharmacology course at the School of Nursing, and one of her lectures includes respiratory medications, including medications used to assist patients in smoking cessation. The Summer Institute will be held May 29-30.
