Warren lands young leader award

Michael Dale Warren, M.D., M.P.H., assistant professor of Pediatrics, has received a 2010 Nashville Emerging Leader Award, given by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and YP Nashville.

The awards highlight the contributions of young professionals to the business community.

Warren was applauded for establishing the first-ever Child Health Week for Tennessee and the Vanderbilt Pediatric Resident Advocacy Curriculum, which involves medical residents in school and community health activities, and for his involvement as medical director of the Governor's Office of Children's Care Coordination.

“I was quite humbled and felt proud to even be included in the list of finalists, all of whom are outstanding individuals doing great work in the Nashville community,” Warren said.

Awards are given in one of 14 categories, and Warren was recognized in medical and health care services.

To qualify, candidates must be under age 40 and live or work in the 10-county Nashville region.
