Michael R. Waterman, Ph.D., Natalie Overall Warren Distinguished Professor and Chair of Biochemistry, received the 2003 Distinguished Alumni Scientist Award from his alma mater, Oregon Health & Science University.
The award was established to honor an alumnus/alumna who displays continued research excellence, service to the scientific community and contributions to basic science education. Waterman is renowned for his research on the structure, function and regulation of cytochrome P450 enzymes required for lipid biosynthesis and metabolism.
