Meharry Medical College's Wayne Riley, M.D., will deliver the Sixth Annual Levi Watkins Jr. Lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at noon in 208 Light Hall.
Riley will speak on “Diversity in the Health Professions Matters: The Untold Story of Meharry Medical College.” A reception will follow in the North Lobby of Light Hall.
The Watkins Lecture, presented by the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, is named after VUSM's first African-American student to be admitted and to graduate from the program. A major focus of the annual lecture is closing the gap of racial disparities in health care.
