Lynn E. Webb, Ph.D., has been appointed Chief of Staff for Dr. Steven G. Gabbe, dean of the School of Medicine, effective April 1.
Webb will provide support directly to the Dean on projects related to the achievement of the School of Medicine’s goals and objectives.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to assist Dean Gabbe with the great number of initiatives underway in the School of Medicine,” Webb said. “I have enjoyed the positive working relationships developed over the past nine years with department chairs, business officers, and other School of Medicine leaders.
“Since receiving my Ph.D. in 1997 in educational administration, I was hoping to someday find a way to combine my 20 years administrative experience at academic medical centers with my interest in education. This position seems to be a perfect fit.”
Webb has led the Psychiatric Hospital at Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt Behavioral Health Services as administrator since 1999. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of the Vanderbilt Medical Group and director of The Vanderbilt Clinic.
