Hickson named to new quality, safety role

Gerald Hickson, M.D., assistant vice chancellor for Health Affairs, associate dean for Faculty Affairs and the Joseph C. Ross Professor of Medical Education and Administration, is being promoted to the newly created position of senior vice president for Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Prevention.

Patient and Safety Scholarship program inaugurates first class

Vanderbilt’s Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy has named its inaugural class of 34 scholarship recipients to participate in the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety’s (CBPPS) certification program.

Hickson to chair board of patient safety foundation

Gerald Hickson, M.D., assistant vice chancellor for Health Affairs at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has been named chairman of the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) Board of Directors as well as chairman of the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety.
