The Crohn‘s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) and Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) are hosting the third annual
Living With Crohn‘s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
, a free patient education program to be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m., to discuss the latest research findings and treatment options for children and adults who have Crohn‘s disease or ulcerative colitis, collectively known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
An estimated 25,000 residents of Tennessee, both children and adults of all races, are living with inflammatory bowel disease.
The four-hour program features physicians and other clinical experts in the field of IBD who will discuss in layman‘s terms advances in therapy, management of disease complications, surgical treatment options, nutrition, and coping mechanisms for patients and their family members who have these diseases.

The Crohn‘s & Colitis Foundation of America is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn‘s disease and ulcerative colitis. CCFA sponsors basic and clinical research, and also offers a wide range of educational programs for patients and health care professionals.
