This week the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust took the first steps toward the expansion of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, approving $5.4 million in planning fees for the proposed addition.

The Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt held a celebration Wednesday to mark the launch of construction on the hospital’s latest expansion, which will add four floors of new space atop the existing structure.
