Walk-in breast mammograms available in TVC year-round

Mammograms can be as easy as TVC.

During national Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the Vanderbilt Breast Center is reminding women on the Vanderbilt campus that walk-in mammograms are available at The Vanderbilt Clinic (TVC).

Women who are ready for their next breast screening mammogram can stay on campus and receive the test by visiting the TVC mammography suite without an appointment.
Insurance will be billed and all co-pays apply.

The walk-in mammograms are available year-round Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. on the first floor of TVC, with check-in at room 1630.

“Vanderbilt utilizes digital mammography technology to screen for breast cancer, and finding breast cancer early can make a difference in the outcomes for patients,” said John Huff, M.D., chief of the Section of Breast Imaging and imaging director for the Vanderbilt Breast Clinic.

Screening and diagnostic mammograms are also available at the Vanderbilt Breast Center at Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks, although appointments are required at this location. The Vanderbilt Breast Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.

Insurance plans typically require a waiting period between screening mammograms and patients are encouraged to make sure they are eligible before getting their next screening test.

For more information about mammograms or to book an appointment at either location, call the Vanderbilt Breast Center at 322-2064. To inquire about wait times at TVC, call 322-2501.
