The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is honoring Vanderbilt registered dietitians Dianne Killebrew, M.Ed., R.D., LDN, and Elizabeth Robinson, M.Ed., R.D., LDN, as Top Innovators in Dietetics Practice for their display entitled The GPS Strategy: A Tool Kit to Find Your Voice as a Leader.
The Innovation in Dietetics Practice and Education display was presented during the Academy’s Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) in Houston. With more than 75,000 members, the academy is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals.
The Academy’s Council on Future Practice sponsors the annual FNCE session, which recognizes practitioner contributions to the profession of dietetics and provides an outlet for educators and practitioners to present their best ideas and innovations.
Killebrew has extensive experience in directing and managing food and nutrition systems in community hospitals and multi-unit hospital networks.
She is an educational coordinator for Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Dietetic Internship program, training future dietitians to become leaders in the areas of food systems management and innovative nutrition education programming. She is also past president of the Tennessee Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and currently serves on the Academy’s Committee for Professional Development.
Robinson holds an undergraduate degree in Foods and Nutrition from the University of Utah and a master’s degree in Science Education from Vanderbilt University. She completed her dietetic internship at Vanderbilt before working as a clinical dietitian and preceptor for VUMC’s Oncology, Neurology and NeuroIntensive Care Unit rotations.
Robinson worked for many years as the clinical education coordinator and is currently director of the Vanderbilt Dietetic Internship Program.
Both Killebrew and Robinson are active members of the TN Academy, an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In Tennessee, more than 1,400 registered dietitians are members of the TN Academy, which serves the public by promoting optimal nutrition, health and well-being for all Tennesseans.
