Penson to chair NIH health services research study section

Vanderbilt’s David Penson, M.D., MPH, director of the Center for Surgical Quality and Outcomes Research, has been named to serve as chair of the Health Services Organization and Delivery Study Section in the Center for Scientific Review (CSR) of the National Institutes of Health. He will serve a two-year term.

VUSN workshop to feature noted author, sports agent

Ron Shapiro, negotiator, sports agent, attorney, educator, author and civic leader, will lead a free workshop, “How to Negotiate so Everyone Wins, Especially You!” at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing on Monday, Sept. 22, from 4 – 6:30 p.m.

Sign up for annual lead shielding inspections

Vanderbilt’s Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences will provide annual lead shielding inspections of lead-lined aprons, vests, skirts/kilts, thyroid collars, gonadal shields, gloves and vinyl-type mobile shields every Thursday from Oct. 2 to Dec. 11, from 3:30 to 9 p.m.
