The Flexner Discovery Lecture Series kicks off this fall with a discussion of health care cost control. Timothy Jost, J.D., emeritus professor at the Washington and Lee University School of Law, will speak on Thursday, Sept. 10.
His lecture, “Who should control health care costs: consumers, purchasers, providers, or the government?” begins at 4 p.m. in 214 Light Hall. It is the Patricia Townsend Meador Lectureship, sponsored by the Center for Biomedical Ethics & Society.
Jost is a member of the Institute of Medicine and co-author of the casebook “Health Law,” which is used throughout the United States. He is also author of books, book chapters and articles on health care regulation and comparative health law and policy, and he blogs for Health Affairs about regulatory issues.
