Lynn set for next Discovery Lecture

Her lecture, “How to build the care system you need when you are very old,” will begin at 4 p.m. in room 208 Light Hall. It is sponsored by the Center for Biomedical Ethics.

Lynn is the director of the Center for Elder Care and Advanced Illness at the Altarum Institute, a nonprofit health systems research and consulting organization. Altarum works with clients to solve issues in health care delivery and financing systems.

Lynn’s focus has been on shaping American health care so that each person can live comfortably and meaningfully in the last years of life in a way that can be financially sustained by the community.

She is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the National Academy of Social Insurance and a fellow of the American Geriatrics Society and The Hastings Center. Lynn has published widely, including manuals for improving palliative care and action guides for policymakers and advocates.
