Where did you grow up?

I grew up west of here in a little town called Lexington, Tennessee, and graduated from the only high school we have which is Lexington High School.

What were you like in high school?

I was very outgoing in high school! I was in the band, I cheered, and I was in the honor society and chorus.

How many children do you have and what are your hopes for them?

I have two handsome boys. Jacob is 18 and just started college at MTSU and Elijah is 12 and attends West End Middle School in Nashville. My hopes for them are that they find a career they enjoy, discover the love of their life and just be happy.

What is the best vacation or trip you’ve ever taken?

A few years ago I was able to take my boys to Disney World and we had the best time ever. It truly is a magical place!

What’s your favorite season, and why?

I love the fall because it was my mother’s favorite. She loved Halloween and Thanksgiving. We lost her 9 years ago to aplastic anemia. She had wonderful doctors here at Vanderbilt, including Dr. Adetola Kassim.

What is the nicest compliment you’ve ever received?

I have been told that I have a beautiful smile and a very calming “Southern” voice. I laugh when I hear myself talk.

Are you a morning or a night person?

Definitely not a morning person.

What are some of your favorite movies?

“Steel Magnolias,” “Pretty Woman” and my all-time favorite is “Beauty and the Beast.”

What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you?

I walked into the men’s bathroom at Wal-Mart. I actually didn’t realize it until I came out to wash my hands and my son was standing at the sink. I was so glad it was him and that no other man was in there.

What is No. 1 on your bucket list?

I have a simple request: I want to go New York City and watch a Broadway play!
