Construction will begin Monday, Dec. 6, on a tent on the VUMC Plaza between Vanderbilt University Hospital and Light Hall.
The work is made necessary to accommodate patients and families during the ongoing renovation of the VUH lobby.
A temporary patient and family waiting area will be available on the second floor of Light Hall while the VUH lobby renovations take place, and the temporary tent will allow protection from the weather for the people passing between VUH and Light Hall.
