ExpeditionTech achieves single login experience for all Microsoft services  

VUMC IT has reached a major milestone in its initiative to simplify the login process across all VUMC; as of this month, everyone who works at VUMC is using technologies that allow a single login to access all Microsoft services. This includes phones, tablets and computers, and services including email, Teams, and OneDrive

This accomplishment represents a significant step toward streamlining the login process across VUMC and paves the way for a broader scope of applications to use this more secure login approach.

While this makes using these Microsoft products easier for employees, it also makes using them more secure and protects data and privacy better.

Standardizing the login approach for a larger number of applications:

  • Moves VUMC closer to the goal of single-sign-on for everything – which is the eventual goal
  • Enhances the work experience with modern security features to protect VUMC’s workforce identities and Medical Center data.
  • Allows staff to work efficiently from anywhere, while keeping VUMC content secure.

This effort is part of the larger, multi-year ExpeditionTech project, which creates more secure and collaborative technology environments for VUMC as we look forward to the future.
