Three from VUMC elected to ASCI

Three physician scientists from Vanderbilt University Medical Center have been elected this year to membership in the American Society for Clinical Investigation, one of the nation’s oldest and most respected medical honor societies.

The fourth grader was in the hospital and missed his classmates. They missed him too. So all 66 of them came to visit.

Larger accessible parking spaces added to South Garage

Multiple newly striped, larger-sized accessible parking spaces with crosshatched areas to allow for additional space added to the South Garage are helping parents of children with complex needs safely get to clinic visits at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Owen Canavan was badly injured six years ago. He uses experience to encourage others recovering from traumatic injuries.

In 2017, Canavan was working out at a fitness center when a car came crashing into the building and pinned him against a wall. In the span of a week, he underwent eight surgeries.
