Children’s Way road closure information for week of March 11-16

The week of March 11-16, Children’s Way will be affected by additional utility work. A portion of Children’s Way will be closed  9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Things to know:

  • A section of Children’s Way between 24th Avenue South and the Children’s Way entrance of the West Garage will be closed from March 11-16.
  • On weekdays (March 11-15) work will occur 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — outside of peak traffic hours.
  • During peak traffic hours (6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.), one lane of Children’s Way will open to westbound traffic.
  • On Saturday, March 16, work will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., if needed.

Pedestrians

For the duration of the project (March 11-16)

  • Pedestrians should use the south sidewalk along Children’s Way between 24th and 25th Avenues South.
  • Consult the pedestrian, bicycle maps for the latest routes in the area.

Vehicles

March 11-16

  • Children’s Way will be closed from 24th Avenue South to the entrance of the West Garage.
  • The Children’s Way entrance to the West Garage will not be accessible from 24th Avenue between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 11-15. Parkers should use the 24th Avenue entrance to the West Garage during this time.
  • Work will take place daily between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.; one lane of the section of Children’s Way will be open to westbound traffic outside of these work hours.
  • The Children’s Way entrance to the West Garage will not be accessible from 24th Avenue between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on March 16. Parkers should use the 24th Avenue entrance to the West Garage during this time.

West Garage

March 11-16

  • The West Garage entrance/exit on Children’s Way will be open; commuters should access from Blakemore Avenue to Natchez Trace to Children’s Way from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday.

Alternate routes are established around the construction sites. If you are in the area, please watch for signs, follow the guidance of flaggers and security personnel, and plan for delays.
