Workday to move to single sign-on June 1

This will streamline the login process and eliminate the need to log in multiple times when already logged in to the system.

As of June 1, 2024, Workday will be added to the list of applications at VUMC utilizing VUMC’s single sign-on (SSO) authentication. By using SSO, users will access Workday when logging into other SSO-enabled applications, by using a single set of credentials. This will streamline the login process and eliminate the need to log in multiple times when already logged in to the system. Once you log in with your credentials to SSO the first time, you will be prompted to “remember this device.” Once checked, you will not be prompted to check that box again unless your browser history is deleted, or your browser cache is cleared.

Note that certain shared workstations such as clinical workstations (CWS) may not see this updated functionality due to security limitations. If you do access Workday on a shared workstation, it is imperative that you log out of the Workday application when leaving.

Additionally, this update will require updates to any existing links to the Workday application, including:

  • Desktop Workday Icons: This will be updated by the VUMC Desktop Engineering Team. No action is required by the user.
  • System links on Websites: These must be manually updated by website administrators.  If you are a website administrator, then please be prepared to update the respective links on the websites under your responsibility. No action is required by the user.
  • User Bookmarks: These must be manually updated by the user.

To allow you to prepare for the change in the link to the Workday application, here is the new link:
