It is time again for the bi-annual release of feature upgrades in Workday. These upgrades are designed to increase functionality and enhance the user experience. Workday’s fall release, known as 2024 R2, will come out on Sept. 21. Learn about what changes you can expect when the release of the features arrives.
What to expect:
Twice a year, in March and September, Workday releases feature updates aimed at enhancing functionality and improving user experience. The upcoming release on Sept. 21 will introduce several enhancements designed to streamline your workflow and optimize daily tasks. Most of the enhancements will be ‘behind the scenes’ but are intended to seamlessly improve the user experience. While the details of these subtle enhancements are still being finalized, we will keep you updated and provide a detailed overview during the upcoming Change Network meetings

We anticipate a new look and feel for the Workday WalkMe interactive guide. If you have the plug-in installed, you’ll notice these improvements. If you haven’t installed WalkMe yet, now is the perfect time to start using it. Follow these instructions to install the plug-in.

Change Network Meetings
To help you prepare for the new and updated Workday features, two change network meetings are scheduled on Sept. 18.
We strongly encourage you to attend one of these sessions. Your engagement is invaluable in ensuring the successful transition of our Change Network meetings from being Workday-focused to also informing members about other institution-wide initiatives that may impact their teams.

Expect Workday to be Unavailable During the Release Update
Workday will be unavailable for a maximum of three hours during the next Weekly Service Update and 2024 R2 Feature Release; from 1-4 a.m. (CDT) Saturday, Sept. 21. Please use Workday downtime procedures for business continuity.
Additionally, Workday will be unavailable for a maximum of seven hours during the next Monthly Maintenance; 1-8 a.m. (CDT) on Saturday, Sept. 28. Please use Workday downtime procedures for business continuity.
If you experience issues after the changes have been implemented and downtime is complete, submit a ticket through Pegasus.
