VUMC Pets of the Day: Snider and Benji

Today’s Dog of the Day is Snider, submitted by Tracy Howard of the Patient Flow Center. “This is our boy Snider. He was named after our favorite local folk artist Todd Snider. He is an 8 year old English shepherd whose journey started as a rural outdoor farm dog in Kentucky. He is now a dapper Nashville city gentleman who has traveled the Southeast. He loves the breweries in Asheville, North Carolina, lake swimming in West Virginia, and attending music festivals wherever he is welcome. He is the quintessential social butterfly making friends wherever he goes.”

Today’s Cat of the Day is Benji, submitted by Caralynn Li of Neurology. “Benji — what a handsome boi.”

Pets of the Day — what you need to know

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pets of the Day are included in regular editions of the MyVUMC News newsletter, which is posted twice a week by VUMC News and Communications.

The pets are selected from the hundreds of entries sent to the VUMC Voice Pet Photo Contest.

For those who submitted a photo to that contest, watch MyVUMC News for Pets of the Day, and in addition, regular collections of pet photos are posted to the VUMC Voice site. You can see them all here: https://news.vumc.org/section/voice/pets-vumc/.

If you have a pet you would like to nominate for Pet of the Day, the next Pet Photo Contest submission period is coming up later this year, and will be announced in MyVUMC News.

Snider and Benji were featured in the Jan. 7, 2025, edition of MyVUMC News.
