The Program in Unplanned Care (PUC) Graduate Student Award program seeks to support innovative research projects to enhance the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of unplanned care.
The submission deadline is May 5, and PhD candidates at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Vanderbilt University or Meharry Medical College are eligible to apply.
Examples of suitable research topics include:
- Development of a clinical prediction rule to identify which older emergency department
patients are safe to discharge home - Usability evaluation of clinical decision support in the emergency department for discharge
prescribing of high-risk medications - Simulation of potential interventions to reduce wait times at walk – in urgent care clinics
This program will support up to one research project with an award of up to $10,000.
Projects must be completed within in a 12 month time frame of July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
