
Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville has appointed Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt pediatric neonatologist Diane Attardi, MD, the medical director for Tennova’s Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and nursery where more than 200 babies are cared for each year.
Attardi has a long history of caring for NICU babies as a neonatologist and NICU medical director throughout the Northeast. She is dedicated to promoting breast milk as the best nutrition for all babies and was instrumental in bringing the Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee Milk Drop Depot to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville. Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee provides safe, pasteurized donor human milk to the most vulnerable babies.
A member and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Attardi has published in neonatology publications and served as a mentor to medical students, pediatric residents, neonatology fellows and other students entering the medical field. She is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Attardi is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She received her medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Attardi completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, also in Philadelphia.
