Now it’s your turn to tell the Children’s Hospital story

Children’s book author Gloria Churchwell, center, shared the story of her newest picture book, “Follow Chester!,” during her recent visit to Seacrest Studio at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. She was joined by daughter, Alexandria Churchwell, and Byard Huggins, a local composer and producer, during a promotional tour of the book that highlights the story of Dr. Chester Pierce, the first African American to play collegiate football in the South.

Expansion of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt takes first step

This week the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust took the first steps toward the expansion of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, approving $5.4 million in planning fees for the proposed addition.

CMA Entertainer of the Year nominees Rascal Flatts donated $817,000 in proceeds from Friday night’s sold-out Gaylord Entertainment Center concert in Nashville to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
