Scientists, physicians, staff members and patients interested in the latest in cancer research are invited to attend the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) Annual Scientific Retreat to be held Friday, May 6, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the Vanderbilt University Student Life Center.
This year’s theme, “At the Crossroads: Metabolism and Oncogenic Signaling,” will explore the ways in which cells use energy as well as molecular signaling pathways in cancer cells.
Guest speakers include Lewis Cantley, Ph.D., Weill Cornell Medical College, Chi Van Dang, M.D., Ph.D., Abramson Cancer Center, University of Pennsylvania, Robert Gillies, Ph.D., Moffitt Cancer Center, and Craig Thompson, M.D., Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
The organizer for the VICC retreat is Ann Richmond, Ph.D., Ingram Professor of Cancer Research, associate director for Research Education and vice chair of the Department of Cancer Biology.
Researchers are encouraged to submit cancer-related abstracts and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners of the poster competition.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided during this free event for those who are registered.
