Newsweek recognizes Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital as among America’s best

Newsweek has recognized the Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital and its partner Encompass Health as among America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers for 2020.

 

Newsweek has recognized the Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital and its partner Encompass Health as among America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers for 2020.

“We are extremely honored to have received this award, especially since it comes from physician experts as well as other experts in our field of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R),” said D.J. Kennedy, MD, chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. “The Department of PM&R at Vanderbilt University Medical Center continues to have significant growth. We have a world renown faculty that cover numerous subspecialties that are unique in the state of Tennessee.

“This, combined with a focus on quality and patient satisfaction, allows us to deliver the highest level of care possible to our patients in Tennessee, while also moving the field forward through research and education.”

The recognition is based on the results of an analysis that looked at overall quality of care, quality of services, quality of follow-up care and the hospital’s accommodations and amenities relative to in-state competition.

America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2020 highlights facilities in the 20 states with the highest number of physical rehabilitation centers, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). were included in the survey.

The online survey was sent to thousands of medical experts (physicians, therapists, medical doctors and staff working in physical rehabilitation facilities) who were invited to rate the facilities on numerous quality criteria. Additionally, experts from all over the United States were able to participate in the survey on Newsweek.com.
