“When a Great Save Slips Away”
Vanderbilt Trauma Surgery staff care for a wide variety of traumatically injured patients. Due to intensity of human tragedy that we are witness to on a daily basis, our team thrives on the patient care “wins” that we can achieve. This discussion will focus on a patient that started out as a great save and how the team dealt with an unexpected complication and subsequent transitioning to comfort measures.
