Adult and Pediatric Outpatient Clinics are observing Customer Service Week, October 3-7. The week is set to celebrate the contributions of Patient Service Specialists, Surgery Schedulers, and other non-clinical administrative staff for the work they do year-round.
Each day has a dress-up theme:
- Monday: Super Hero Day
- Tuesday: Vandy Day
- Wednesday: “Dream Uniform” Day (still compliant with VUMC Dress Code)
- Thursday: Twin Day
- Friday: Tie-Dye Day
Additionally, areas are encouraged to celebrate their staff with treats.
“The tireless, and often “unsung” work of our administrative colleagues is being recognized this week,” said Layle Kenyon, Associate Operating Officer at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
“These roles are truly the backbone and base of our success as an organization. Whether answering hundreds of calls per week, checking in our patients at the front desk, working in back offices to ensure patients are scheduled and/or rescheduled, gathering records, coordinating visits, surgeries, procedures and tests, and countless other myriad of tasks their work is essential to our ability to provide excellent and personalized care to our patients and their families.”
