The money is still rolling in, but so far last Saturday’s Greater Nashville Heart Walk has raised more than $1.6 million in its fight against heart disease and stroke as well as provide funding for public and professional education and community service programs. Of that, about $91,000 was raised from teams from VUMC. The event was the first in three years to be held on Vanderbilt’s campus. Donations are still being accepted at NashvilleHeartWalk.org. Among those walking was Yvette Humphrey, above, a 15-year heart transplant survivor.
