Katsuhiro Asonuma, M.D., Ph.D., right, a renowned pediatric liver transplant surgeon in Japan, visited transplant teams at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt recently to discuss the transplant experience in his country. Asonuma, Designated Professor in the Department of Transplant Medicine at Kumamoto University Hospital, was invited by Seth Karp, M.D., left, director of the Vanderbilt Transplant Center, to speak on the country’s successful outcomes with living donor liver transplantation.
