C. Wright Pinson, MBA, M.D., left, was honored Tuesday for his 18 years of leadership of the Vanderbilt Transplant Center. Pinson is stepping away from leading the Transplant Center to focus on his duties as deputy vice chancellor for Health Affairs and CEO of the Vanderbilt Health System.
Among those on hand for the celebration were Jeff Balser, M.D., Ph.D., vice chancellor for Health Affairs, right, and Julie and Bill Damon. In 1991, Julie Damon became Vanderbilt’s first liver transplant recipient. Pinson performed the surgery.
