Boord to lead Children’s Hospital development efforts
Beth Boord has been named assistant vice chancellor of Children's Health for Medical Center Development.
In this newly created role, Boord will manage all aspects of fundraising to support the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and the Department of Pediatrics.
“I'm excited to be working with Holly Walsh and the great team in Development, along with talented volunteers and our outstanding faculty
Boord, who has been at Vanderbilt University since 2006, previously served as associate dean of Development and Alumni Relations at Vanderbilt's Divinity School.
“I am deeply grateful to Chancellor Zeppos and Vice Chancellor Balser for their extraordinary support of child health across the entire University campus. Beth is a person of extraordinary talent who will bring maturity, wisdom and experience to this important new position,” said Jonathan D. Gitlin, M.D., James C. Overall Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics.
“Her recruitment elevates our opportunities in philanthropy that will transform our capabilities to care for children and their families.”
Boord will report to the executive associate vice chancellor for Vanderbilt University Medical Center Development. There is currently a national search under way to fill the position.
Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Boord served in numerous roles, including director of Advancement for the Harpeth Hall School, director of Development and Marketing for the Nature Conservancy of Tennessee, vice president for Development at the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and vice president of Major Gifts for the United Way of Middle Tennessee.
She earned a master's degree in Social Work at the University of Tennessee.
