The members of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine's class of 2012 gave something to the medical school it has never had before: a sign on the outside of Light Hall.
“There was no sign outside the Medical School in the plaza on the Medical Center campus, so we thought this would be a nice way to give back, to place the official school seal under the Light Hall sign,” said class president Scott Zuckerman.
The students decided last year to organize a Winter Fine Arts Concert to raise money to pay for the sign. With the assistance of the Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Association (VMAA), the plan and design for the school crest received official approval and was mounted at VMAA's recent “You're Halfway There” reception for the Class of 2012.
