VKC receives Lifting Lives funding
The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center is one of two Vanderbilt programs to receive funding from the Academy of Country Music’s (ACM) Lifting Lives program.
Lifting Lives funds programs that promote education and healing through the power of music including initiatives for special needs schools or camps, hospitals and hospices.
This is the second year that the ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp has received funding to assist children, who have Williams Syndrome, with scholarships for the weeklong residential camp. The Kennedy Center grant, totaling $30,000, is the largest amount awarded.
Rhythm of Hope, an interactive music session for pediatric patients at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, will also benefit from the Lifting Lives program. It received funding through the Lollipop Theater Network to help secure facilitators and provide instruments and other materials.
