Events set to raise music therapy funds
Local musician and poet Matt Urmy, who is also a research coordinator for Pediatric Clinical Research at Vanderbilt, is currently organizing an event to raise awareness for, and benefit, the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt's music therapy program, supported by the Julian T. Fouce Fund.

Set for June 5-6, the inaugural Nashville City Nights will feature local musicians and artists.
“One of the roles and responsibilities of artists is to always do things to help the community,” Urmy said.
On June 5, two events in East Nashville, at The 5 Spot and The Family Wash, will take place at 8 p.m. with performances by local musicians, and will cost $5 at the door.
On June 6, the downtown Arcade's First Saturday Art Crawl will be dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the music therapy program, and will begin at 6 p.m.
There will be free live performances in addition to free admission to the art galleries. Donations will be accepted.
