Haywood to serve on child mobility committee
H. Carl Haywood, Ph.D., professor of Psychology and Neurology, Emeritus, and a member of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, has been appointed to serve as a member of the Committee on the Impact of Mobility and Change in the Lives of Young Children, Schools, and Neighborhoods.
The committee is under the Board on Children, Youth, and Families, a shared activity of the National Research Council and the Institute of Medicine.
The Board on Children, Youth, and Families addresses a variety of policy issues related to the health and development of children and families.
It does so by convening experts to weigh in on matters from the perspective of the behavioral, social and health sciences.
The Committee is charged with organizing a two-day workshop to review research on patterns of change and mobility in the lives of young children.
