Best-selling novelist Robin Cook will join Gov. Phil Bredesen for a discussion of health care reform Nov. 9 at Belmont University.
The event, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to noon in the university's Inman Conference Center, is hosted by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.
Cook, a physician whose medical thrillers include "Coma" and "Harmful Intent," is a trustee of the Wilson Center, a nonpartisan institute for advanced study in public policy, political science and other areas.
Other participants in the discussion will include: Belmont University President Bob Fisher, Ph.D.; Charles "Chip" Kahn III, president of the Federation of American Hospitals; and Rosemarie Day, deputy director and chief operating officer of the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector Authority, which is implementing Massachusetts' landmark health care reform legislation.
