Children’s Hospital Development ups two
The Development office at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt has announced two recent promotions.
• Jessica King-Bernard, formerly director of Children's Miracle Network (CMN), has been named associate director of Children's Hospital Development.
She will be responsible for overseeing all annual and third-party events, the CMN program and the Friends organization, as well as being engaged in major gifts fund raising to support Children's Hospital.
“Jessica has served in this capacity in an interim role since January, and she has excelled in the position. She has been a great leader, manager and people motivator,” said Terry Carter, senior director for Children's Hospital Development.
• Lisa Zanger, formerly activities coordinator for the CMN, will succeed King-Bernard as CMN director. In her new role, she will be responsible for the annual CMN Radiothon and Telethon, among other fund-raising efforts for the CMN.
“Lisa has served as activities coordinator for the CMN for the past two years,” Carter said. “Lisa's skills and strategies for recent CMN events have had a direct impact on the success of the telethon. This year, we've experienced the best totals in the history of the event.”
King-Bernard joined Vanderbilt in 2005 after serving as the CMN director for the Medical University of South Carolina's Children's Hospital in Charleston.
She received her undergraduate degree in sociology and women's studies at Emory University in Atlanta.
Zanger joined Vanderbilt in 2004 after serving as the development assistant for the American Heart Association's Nashville chapter.
She received her undergraduate degree in human development and family studies from the University of Arkansas.
