Jason H. Moore, Ph.D., assistant professor of Molecular Physiology & Biophysics, received the Best EvoSolve Paper award, sponsored by the U.K.-based EvoSolve charitable group, at the seventh International Conference on Parallel Problem Solving from Nature (PPSN) in Granada, Spain held Sept. 7-11.
Moore’s paper, titled “Cellular Automata and Genetic Algorithms for Parallel Problem Solving in Human Genetics,” was co-authored by Lance W. Hahn, analyst and programmer in the Program for Human Genetics. The paper was published, along with the rest of the proceedings of the meeting, in the Springer-Verlag book series called Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS).
